Electric on/off Solenoid Valve Control

Accu-Lube applicators do not need electricity to operate. However, many of our customers use an electric solenoid on/off valve to turn on and off the compressed air supply to the applicator. Then pick the correct voltage for your machine.

Solenoid Installation

To automate the on/off control of an Accu-Lube applicator add a solenoid valve to the air supply inside the applicator box. The parts needed are a solenoid valve and a close nipple. The solenoid valve is available in different voltages depending on your needs.

Step #1 on the solenoid valve base the 1/4" NPT ports are numbered. Connect the 1/4" NPT close nipple to port #1. As with all air fitting connections it is recommended that you use Teflon tape or some other type of pipe sealant.

Step #2
open the back door of the applicator by loosening the screw in the back of the box allowing the rear door to swing open.

Step #3
remove the male run T fitting from the bulkhead fitting with a 9/16" wrench.

Step #4
loosen the lock nut on the bulkhead fitting inside the box to allow the filter assembly to rotate freely.

Step #5
insert the solenoid with the 1/4" NPT close nipple into the center of the bulk head then insert the male run T into port # 2 on the base of the solenoid valve then tighten the whole assembly turning to the point where the filter and solenoid are in the same up/down orientation.

Step #6 tighten the lock nut on the bulk head.

Step #7
reinsert the tubes into the press lock fittings.

Step #8 have a qualified electrician connect the solenoid to the desired source power. The valve will open and allow air to flow when energized.

Step #9 remove the manual on/off valve from the input side of the filter/regulator and connect the air supply directly to the filter/regulator input.

Close and secure the rear door and your are done.
